...from stillness and silence...

an illusion
to which human beings commonly fall prey
is the idea that because we have choices,
we are free.
as the great teacher Krishnamurti said,
"truth is a pathless land."
choices are not the same as discoveries,
for discoveries come from stillness and silence,
not from an exertion of the will.
so long as we choose,
we're still trapped behind the veil of illusion.

rusty.
spider web.
past it's time.
love it.
casting it's shadow proudly.
stating...
i am still here.
for more wonderful shadows.
just BE.
robin.

For some reason, when I look at this photo, I envision a giraffe with a wounded leg. Of course, it's not--but my imagination can run through the savanna with the wild things now and then, can't it? :)

SHADOWY DELIGHT

Shadows above me, shadows below,
Shadows beside me, wherever I go;

Shadows each morning, shadows at night—
Shadows, O shadows, you’re my delight!

Rust is a neat thing in that is alters the shape of things only slightly - yet we view the oxidation as the worst of all things. Even though is lies merely on the metallic surface. The web shows that a spider lived here briefly - and did not are about the rust (I think anyway...)

This is my favorite kind of shot. Pipes, nuts, bolts...you name them and I like them. Having the spider web added to the equation just makes the shot all the better. The texture you are able to capture in this shot is awesome. Really wonderful. Great job. genie

Where is my shadow,
I cannot find her anywhere,
I'm so lonely without her here.

If the lighting's right,
and I am out in the yard,
I bet I'll see her again.

That will make me smile,
My loneliness will end
I'll be with my friend.

Ahhh, lil sister, I so enjoy living behind the veil of illusion, my lil' pink palace become that portal to paradise for me on a daily basis, it makes my heart sing and nearly clouds out the 4-lane behind me...I've deluded myself into believing it's not really there, only a mere rustling of dust on an old gravel road(I wish)...but it is what it is and even though it's been raining and gloomy for 3 days...it's still a day in the life...I'm breathing!!!!

Hey Tilda, you'll be glad to know that all of those pieces remained as is, even that old kitchen cupboard looks great after knobs replaced and cleaned up...I'm over the painting phase and now leaving most AS IS...I love it here on the dark side!!!

Another cup o joe please Robin...and BTW, love the family portrait!!!
