...the key is in your hand...

In oneself lies the whole world
and if you know how to look and learn,
the door is there and the key is in your hand.
Nobody on earth can give you either the key or the door
to open, except yourself.
Jiddu Krishnamurti
today is a beautiful sunny day.
but i saw these shadows.
in the bathroom this morning.
from the sun shining through the window.
i thought i'd go with these shots today.
enjoy the moments!!

...8.25.13...

betrue.

at the heart of each of us,
whatever our imperfections,
there exists a silent pulse of perfect rhythm,
which is absolutely individual and unique,
and yet which connects
us to everything else.
~george leonard

from the book be.

so many pressures.
so many choices.
so much stuff coming at you constantly.
as i sit on the porch.
rocking gently in my rocker.
once i stop my mind from all the negative.
that wants to grow and thrive.
i can take a deep breath in.
and make the choice.
to breathe out the negative.
and with the next cleansing breath.
a calming peace.
takes its place.
is that easy?
no.
but is it possible?
yes.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.

...light & without words...

How do you know? she said
& the answers fell like feathers, or the first snowflakes of November,
light & without words. I looked in her eyes & smiled.
 You just know, I said.

...this is a world filled with love...

this is a world filled with love & other things that have the sense not to waste time talking about everything under the sun & see how it glows with no help from us whatsoever
~storypeople

one of those moments.
when you are up early.
driving your son to school.
to catch the 7:15 bus to a morning scrimmage.
one of those moments.
when you are in your pj's.
under your fleece and sweats.
and wearing your slippers.
one of those moments.
when you've seen beauty out of the corner of your eye.
when you stop.
on your country road.
and back up but the seat belt is holding you tightly.
and you can't move.
one of those moments.
when you wish you had your faithful camera.
one of those moments.
when you are out scaling the dewy grass.
in your slippers.
to catch that shot.
with your camera phone.
one of those moments.
that takes your breath away.
the sun.
shining through this tree.
in the morning fog.
nothing can happen today.
that will take that moment away.
enjoy the moments.
please.
just BE.

...8.18.13...

behopeful.

i haven't a clue
as to how my story will end.
but that's all right.
when you set out on a journey
and night covers the road,
that's when you discover the stars.
~nancy willard

from the book be.

while out capturing.
this bottle and flower.
i stand up and see.
this fawn.
it was downwind from me.
and keeping it's attention.
towards it's momma.
who was undercover.
in the field below.
it could hear the clicking.
of the camera shutter.
but didn't feel threatened by me.
suddenly it ran towards me.
stopping about 15 feet away.
i love this journey.
taking the time to breathe in.
the simple moments.
one breath at a time.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.

I have heard some beautiful notes in my life,

...8.11.13...

i carry you with me into the world,
 into the smell of rain
& the words that dance between people
& for me, it will always be this way,
walking in the light, remembering being alive together
~storypeople

a small town.
a community made up of many different lives.
(three little villages actually.)
comes together today.
a small town.
where many have stayed from childhood.
remembers growing up with each other.
a small town.
feels the immense sadness today.
for parents.
who lost their child.
this small town.
holds on tighter to their own children.
to each other.
as life has given it's lesson again.
of how quickly.
it can change.
today.
for Valerie Marie VanAvery.
enjoy the moments.
because they are all that really matter.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.

...some of that wasn't really important...

Dwelling on the unimportant, stressing on the unintended, and freaking over the unknown,
simply doesn't work... and is a bit like lighting a match in a dark room to make sure no one accidentally
sprinkled any gunpowder on your bicycle, which is kept under the stairs, near the back porch.
Actually, some of that wasn't really important, but hopefully it distracted from any stigma you
may have attached to freaking over the unknown.

...fill with more delight...

“I almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days -
three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.”
― John KeatsBright Star: Love Letters and Poems of John Keats to Fanny Brawne

...week sixteen of 52 photos project...

texture "dreams"
by kim klassen

I was never good at hide
& seek because I'd always make enough noise
so my friends would be sure to find me.
I don't have anyone to play those games with any more,
but now & then I make enough noise
just in case someone is still looking & hasn't found me yet.
~storypeople

week sixteen.
{childhood games}
so many wonderful childhood games.
yes, there were box games.
but the fun ones were.
ghost in the graveyard.
rolling the round metal wheel with a stick.
stepping on cans to make noisy shoes.
playing house in the corn crib with real dishes.
playing marbles.
stringing buttons.
the list goes on and on for this country girl.
ah, childhood memories.
great prompt this week.
just BE.

...8.4.13...

bebrave.

most of our obstacles
would melt away if instead of
cowering before them,
we should make up our minds
to walk boldly through them.
~orison swett marden

from the book be.

the north east sky.
hasn't made up it's mind yet.
on just how it wants to spend it's day.
the south west is trying hard.
to hold onto blue.
i believe it will be a battle today.
despite the forecast of sun.
i was blessed to hear a lone robin today.
blue skies or grey skies.
my Sunday morning coffee was heightened by my feathered friend.
it does not take much.
at times.
to make my spirit soar.
enjoy the moments.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
