...1.29.12...

“those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
~Bernard Baruch
for paula s.

“we're so quick to cut away pieces of ourselves
to suit a particular relationship,
a job, a circle of friends,
incessantly editing who we are until we fit in.”
― Charles de Lint

i think fitting in is highly overrated.
 i’d rather just fit out...
fitting out means being who you are,
even when people insist that you have to change.
fitting out means taking up space,
 not apologizing for yourself,
and not agreeing with those who seek to label you with stereotypes.”
― Golda Poretsky
i had.
much typed here.
that i let the delete button remove.
what i will say.
is.
when the layers of family and friends.
peel away.
the true layers stay.
so stay true to yourself.
enjoy who you are.
enjoy life.
this is it.
this is all we got.
i choose to make the most of the ride.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

This is a wonderful post, I love the piece from Golda Poretsky...

And staying true to yourself is so important, problem is it takes some of us a long time to reach that point..

I REALLY do love to visit your blog. Your photos are as amazing as the quotes you post. Simple, pure, and such a gift to my day. Thank you.

I enjoyed my visit to your blog. The photos are wonderful, you have a wonderful eye and make everyday items look amazing. The thing that made the post powerful was what you wrote at the end. It came straight from the heart and is so very true. If we could all just BE.

So...I was popping in on the participates of SSS 2, doing the networking thing. I saw your name. Clicked. Wanted to stop and linger at your soft images, the curvy font, but kids and TV were screaming. I ALMOST whipped out a generic "beautiful shots" ALMOST. Its nearly 3 hours later, and worth the wait. Your aged pictures, and true wise words were very inspiring to me. I really connected with your "when layers and family and friends peel away". Been feeling like the odd man out...yet am the happiest I have ever been. Can't understand it. Common sense says the dots don't add up.
Oh well.
Thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Leah

I see the bench! Are my eyes playing tricks on me? I thought the only image posted last week by you was the top to the coffee pot. Am I loosing it?
Anyway, the bench is a dead-ringer (I wonder how that expression got coined) for the one I posted!
