"the voyage of discovery
is not in seeking new landscapes
but in having
new eyes."
~marcel proust
this is what is
freeing to me about
photography.
i tend to look
at my surroundings differently.
it may be boring to some...
and that's okay.
but others get it.
stop.
and take the time.
just once in a while.
to be aware implies vigilance in observing
or alertness in drawing inferences
from what one experiences.
be aware.
i am guessing.
you will be.
glad that you
did.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

Thanks for the coffee. Really like to way you manage to place those cups somewhere and take a lovely picture, making us feel at ease immediately! Love the picture with shadows in the water filled glass.

What striking photos!Loved your description as well.
Taking photos for shadows has really changed how I look at a scene or object. Often I will take 2 shots - one for its shadow. There are so many interesting memes around for photography.

Beautiful close-up shots of nature, and I love the coffee cup amidst the purple wildflowers!

I also like the quote you chose from Proust.

The composition, colors - it all comes together so nicely.

Great photos! The last one totally emasculates the rule about centering the subject and puts it to shame! Why does it work?! The fact that it is in the lower half? The handle? the white on black? Beats me. Stunning picture!
