there can be no other
occupation like gardening in which,
if you were to creep up behind someone
at their work,
you would find them smiling.

i find myself
just standing.
looking
at my flower gardens.
just soaking it in.
breathing it in.
as if my gardens
are taking
out of me...
all the stresses
of life.
a garden.
truly transforms you.
takes you to a place of peace.

this is the same thing
you can say about chasing
down shadows.
have a wonderful garden
kind of breathing
day.
just BE.

Just look at the pride in this Mother's eyes...HAPPY B-DAY SARAH!!!
What a lucky pair to have each other...bet there's a proud Gramma out there too, aye Tilda!!!
Finally after a day's respite from the rains, I walked around the house to the gardens...and WOW, had they grown...overnight!
I too find myself just standing and looking around in amazement...and always with that pesky smile.
Have a wonderful day girls and be prepared for another week of rains...or should I say cleansing.
Thanks for the coffee, see ya on Sunday!
Hey Tilda, are ya out from under the bed...and out of chocolate I'll bet!

It can be very soothing and calming to spend time in the garden!
Happy Birthday to your dear Sarah.
Yes, I agree, Mirabel Osler's words especially by the anon author. Gardening is an effective tranquilizer and sedative as well.

Every morning I have to look out of my second story window and just sigh.....love my garden!!
I couldn't agree with you more about my garden too! And, to be able to bring some of that beauty inside by way of cut flowers arranged in a vase sitting in random places throughout the home.
And, what a beautiful daughter you have!
What a great shot of the two of you. Happy Birthday Sarah. There is just nothing more refreshing and peaceful than being in the garden, beautiful shots.
