...be completely present...

in dwelling,
 live close to the ground.
 in thinking,
 keep to the simple.
 in conflict,
 be fair and generous.
in governing,
 don't try to control.
in work, do what you enjoy.
in family life, be completely present.
Lao Tzu

winter has decided.
february would be a good time.
to show up.
winter.
what you don't know is.
spring is inevitable.
so you may drop.
more snow than we've
had all season.
you may be cold.
you may blow your winds.
for i know that.
next week is march.
and your february white.
will soon be turned to march brown.
and to that, my doll shadow, gives a thumbs up.
check out shadows from around the world.
enjoy the day you are presented with .
whatever you may be doing...
don't forget to.
just BE.
robin.

Great shadow shot for the day, Robin, and wonderful words and reminder by Lao Tzu! It's chilly and wet here in Seattle, but it's that time of year and Spring will come -- eventually! Have a great weekend!

Ah, winter. It's so windy here today. Like March in February. ;-)

I didn't know that was a doll shadow. I must not be awake yet.

Enjoy your week seeking shadows!

And in Helsinki we're getting more and more light every day, cool!
Light mornings are so much more energetic to wake up...
Happy Sunday!

I thought that looked like a tiny doll hand! (three fingers and a thumb) :)

We've had a little Spring AND Winter in the past 48 hours - 88F Thursday afternoon to 26 over night.

That is so true-the late to arrive winter. Nice part is that we now that spring is inevitable and just around the corner! A comforting thought indeed.

I'm glad that you said what the shadow was, as I couldn't make it out!!

I thought that might be the appendage of the Velveteen Rabbit, which would also be appropriate of the beings yet to scamper under the sun on a warm Spring day. It is true that we prepare for Spring by enduring the cold Winter. The biggest joy from living in a true four-season climate...

Always look forward to the gentle ambience of your shadows from enigmatic subjects! This one is so beautiful! It could be a kind of coarse material for "toed" socks - but that could be the macro effect - with a roughly stitched on toe! Now to wonder what the bokeh white material could be! Just lovely!

I always love coming back and sit with you and listen to your prose.

I wasn't sure, what's in your shot. You catch the perfect shot, though? It looks like a killer slug §;-)

Take care, Rob...

Oh la la... isn't it a good giveaway? I do love the blouse. We still wear this kind of cloth in the Philippines. In a nice and special occasion.

How's everybody, sweet MK? Hugs to your lovelies, k?

Love that interesting shot...dolls hands! Yes, even for us North Eastern-ers, who long ago made a peace with old man winter, the tail end of February drags us down. We have not had any accumulations of snow all year, which does make winter a bit more of a drudgery.
But time flies, even in winter, there is always beauty to be found, and spring is not far away.
Thanks for your words and images, as usual.
Cheers,

I agree, winter better watch out for the coming of spring.

In Texas we have very little winter. We need it to kill off things, but still thankful no snow.

I love the way you taunt winter. I feel sad for winter, especially this year, because winter didn't have a chance to make us miserable. I didn't even break out my goose down parka this season. It's still hanging in the closet!
Nice shadowy shot. Good to be back amongst the shadow seekers and see you again.

Peace
