...10.16.11...

it's said that each time
you catch a fall leaf
as it drops from a tree,
you win a wish for the coming year.
and there are few
more hilarious,
live-in-the-moment activities
than chasing leaves around
on a golden autumn afternoon.
catching them is harder
than you think,
but each time you succeed,
close your eyes,
and make your wish.
~1,001 ways to live in the moment

where the fallen...
and the newly blossomed
meet.

the time between.
the color starting.
to it's fullest glory.
to an empty tree.
was about eight days.
and now.
many more have followed suit.
the color.
is fading to grey.
once again.
sleep is coming.
once again.
sound will be taken over.
by silence.

God gave us memories so we might have roses in december. ~ J.M. Barrie

welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

Beautiful imagery on your blog! I especially love the shot of the worn quilt outdoors! History and Autumn pieced together :)

I'm glad I came back to see the fallen apples. However, I must confess that there's not much that saddens my heart more than seeing fruit go to waste!

I love the shot of the quilt. The vibrant star pattern blocks and the muted blurred back round is a beautiful touch.
I do quilt, and its funny, every year at this time, I get the itch to retreat back into my neglected sewing room and re-connect with my fabric while drinking a hot cup of coffee.
Don't you love the rhythm and ebb of the seasons?
Cheers,
Leah

Sara I literally gasped when I saw these stunning pictures .. I have not been able to capture Fall colours since our weather has been terrible .. the wind and rain has torn off all the beautiful leaves .. this was not to be which leaves a little hole in my heart since I wait all year for the "show" .. but I love your pictures sio thank you !
