...true gratitude...

..."fortunately, gratitude involves much more than feeling
good about something you own or saying,
"thank you," for someone's kind act.
true gratitude involves understanding there is something
beautiful and marvelous
in almost everything around you."...
the velveteen principles
a guide to becoming real
~toni raiten-d'antonio

it is not easy.
but if you embrace it long enough.
it will become a habit.
just like chasing shadows is a habit.
may you find true gratitude today.
just BE.

This creature in the photo must be either the Velveteen Rabbit or the Skin Horse. Whichever one I choose, I'll be wrong, so please tell me!

Tell your shadow that you love her,
Spurn your shadow, if you dare.
Keep your shadow out of darkness,
Keep her in the sun’s harsh glare!

Shadows here and here

The Velveteen Rabbit was real! He believed, the child believed, and the outdoor rabbits scoffed. The power of belief in yourself can lead you to do great things. The rabbit did...

I always enjoy visiting, not just for your excellent shadow shots, but also for the intersting/inspring quotes!

I love seeing shadowed shapes that question reality! They can be what you imagine them to be! Gorgeous photo and lovely thoughts!

So much more to be grateful for than not. Much can be learned from the Velveteen Rabbit!

Great post again!
'Thank you' only two words but not used as often as 'love'.
I love this and that but how much that kind of love really means?
Why a word 'like' is not said when that's what actually is meant?
You made me think...
Happy Sunday!

Isn't it just surreal how we've become new friends to so many on just this lil' SSS, how we can watch the seasons change half a world away...just think of what it was like a short 10 years ago and what this computer age has many new friends and like minds...I kinda like it, how 'bout you!

Our Autumns look similar in raging fire-like beauty spreading across the hillsides, me n Scratchy will be hitting the road shortly to get some photos, while the morning is still traffic free and cold and damp...I still mourn the loss of summer always!!!

Hey me some new wool hunting socks...have you got cushy wool envy...ha! Stay warm my friends...I'm still Jonesin' on your wood-burners...ARGH!
