...11.11.12...

regard your soliders as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys.
look on them as your own beloved sons,
and they will stand by you even unto death!
Sun Tzu

the bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them,
glory and danger alike,
 and yet notwithstanding,
 go out to meet it.
Thucydides

i am able.
to step out my door.
and capture.
 the ordinary.
because of the.
extraordinary.
men and women.
who have sacrificed.
for our freedom.
to allow us to live.
as individual's.
please don't take that for granted.
please remember.
what this day means.
give thanks with a grateful heart.
blessings on this Veteran's Day.

Beautiful photos, and a beautiful acknowledgement of our veterans.

You do such a great job of capturing the details and soft colors of these subjects.

I went to the Remembrance Service at our church today too. Just to say 'thank you' for my freedom.

I am touched deep down this morning as I read your work today. Being from a family of soldiers in all forces...brothers, husband, uncles and sons [even a gr. grandfather that was part of the NY Infantry during the Civil War]...this post today, Robin, is especially poignant.

I also liked the quote from Sun Tzu.

Robin .. I didn't know Americans recognized this day (usually just us Canadians and Brits) .. in fact when we lived in Holland and in the mixed NATO community .. the Americans would ask we we were wearing the red flower(poppy) on our clothes.
I think I might have mentioned my husband is a Gulf War vet and we feel this day intensely ..
Thank you for posting this : )
