...of stepping up...

maybe being brave is no more than
staring down the 'less than' feeling
and stepping up to the 'i am worthy' feeling.

-7 below.
but.
much to be grateful for.
my house is warm.
the sun is shining.
there is much destruction
and chaos in the world.
i am grateful for -7 below.
it's all about the perspective.
it is sunny...and you know
what that means...
light + objects = shadows.
and you know where to go
to find more...
coffee is ready.
bring on those shadow shots.
just BE.

Oh yes the sun...oh glorious sun...even though it's colder than that witch's you know what.

But soon it'll be hot and boy/girl will we love it. I'm a heat kinda gal too, never too warm for me, that's why I loved living in Florida...
BRING IT ON...don't know how you gals do it up there, but having a fireplace would sooth the savage beast, at least you'd have ambiance
after you've struggled home from work...ooooh, that brought a shiver to me timbers...ha!

Have a great day Robin, hope Tildas' chocolate is holding out!!!

Lovely shot and wonderful words as always, Robin! I'm glad you have a warm house, some sunshine and your wonderful attitude as always. They frequently serve to remind me of how much I have and to quit whining about the little things! Enjoy your weekend, stay warm and wishing you lots of love and laughter!

ok...not going to complain about 23 degrees and windy today :) Bring on the coffee - we'll join you in a cup and toast the sunshine!!
Love your photo - don't you just want to rub your finger against those seeds and set them free...hoping that they all bloom into gorgeous flowers this summer!
Have a great week Robin!

A super photo - I love the contrast between sharp and soft focus. Our weather is much warmer - and there are lambs everywhere we go!

I too love that "old photo" frame around your header shot. how did you do that??? your shadow shot is subtle beauty to accompany your pearls of wisdom. I'm off to stare down....
happy SSS Robin, and I hope your weekend is meaningful and light.

The sun adds a warm ambience to a cold day. Blue skies and a yellow sun adds a skip to our step, we know that a warm family is the most wonderful thing.

Likewise, dandelions may be weeds - yet in full bloom, the yellow face feels almost like the sun. A fine lloking weed that is nice!

These seed heads contain yet-to-be-discovered riches. I am waiting breathlessly for them to burst!

WONDERING WHY

Said Shadow, “I do wonder why,
When there is no sun in the sky,
I must disappear;
I’d like to stay here
And never again say good-bye!”

Yes-I need to remember that mantra more often. That 'less than' does tend to haunt...

I was going to ask the name of the plant but found the answer in the comments. I must see if we have black eyed susans here. I think they'd be really fun to photograph. I love yours! And I love your new blog header photo! You're so right about being grateful for what we have, with so much devastation going on all around us.

"Everything that is, could be otherwise" by Germaine Greer is a quote I have printed on a little card and carry around with me. Just to remind me to be more grateful :)

Yes, beautiful, fragile image...
You're so right 'it's all about the perspective' - even if I'm still in pain life in Finland is safe, our home is warm, sun's shining...Life is good.

Beautiful, amazing photo. i love the subtle light and the blue cast. -7 below...yikes...I can't even imagine how cold that is. At times like this I realize how spoiled I am to live in sunny So. Cal. But then again...I can't get all the amazing peaceful looking photos of snow and ice that you capture so perfectly. Want to trade spots for a day?
