...your truth...

it was such a beautiful day yesterday...
brought out the porch table and chairs
this wasp's nest fell out...

it is your truth.
your power.
your soul.
guard it with all you have.
don't let anyone's misconceptions steal it.
including your own.

~terri st. cloud
if only for today.
spring is here.
despite the frosty morning.
the birds,
including the robins,
are singing.
the sun in on the rise.
it is going to be a great day.
light + objects = shadows
is the place to find more.
going to enjoy my coffee
looking and listening.
just BE.
robin.

Looks as though you have some sun! How wonderful! I think we may have a little today, too, and I'm already excited!! Lovely shadow shot as always, Robin! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Is that a wasps' nest? Great textures...very nice.

I trust that was last year's nest, once (and only once) inhabited by the wasps with slender hips...

For us, when a cold day is only 50 or so, like today, that improves our outlook when compared to this past winter! The birds are singing in southern New England, the squirrels scampering also. We withstood the snow, and have the happy feeling of Spring (nearly) in the air!

the birds have begun their symphony here as well...spring is on the way!

I love finding these nests and I always save them too. sometimes they manage to recycle back to the earth but I have some from ages ago. lovely shadow shot, and I love your words of wisdom too. happy SSS Sara.

Lovely combed textures make for a great contrast with the wood lined textures! And the nest casts subtle, indented shadows! Delightful photo!

Beautiful words. Love the interesting textures, the apparent fragility of the...?...contrasting with the wooden post.

The good news is there were no wasps.

Such a gorgeous photo. I've never thought of a wasp's nest as beautiful, but it is! It almost looks like something you'd find in the sea. You really have a gift with capturing such simple scenes and making them extraordinary! Thank you for sharing that with us.

I find wasps' nests to be quite fascinating--especially when they are empty of wasps!

SHADOW SINGER

Of shadows an old man did sing;
He chanted in Guelph and Beijing;
The shade was his friend,
He loved it no end—
It made him feel rich as a king!

We have a problem with wasps around here too. Their nests look so pretty, but....
I love your images above. Looking at clothes hanging out on the line always gets me feeling good. :)
Your quilt is so pretty.
