"...do you really want to be happy?
just pay attention and be kind, unconditionally kind,
on this breath alone.
forget about the future. just this breath.
no matter what the circumstances, just be kind.
friend, lover, family member, someone who seems to hate you,
someone you've never met on the street, your own soft animal body.
just be kind in whatever way is appropriate.
everything else will work itself out,
and you will begin to sense your own Pure Heart everywhere.
how amazing.

very simple.
just be kind.
only on this breath."

this morning.
after i had taken my coffee photo.
and as i was drinking my first cup.
i started to take.
the online, government census survey.
after 15 minutes of filling out info, with no end in sight.
i hit save and logged out.
i know at some point.
we will not be able to breathe without asking the government for permission.
so i stopped the survey.
and regained my happy focus.
with Molokai Girl's post from yesterday.
i aspire to just be.
and this survey took me far away from that this morning.
this country is headed in directions.
that is no longer about.
We The People.
so this morning.
government does not get to ruin my coffee time.
this morning.
i control what i can.
to be kind.
it is that simple.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.
robin.

I do so agree with all you've written and particularly now, I'll print a copy of this to keep nearby for a reminder! Thank you for sharing the wisdom! Have a lovely week, Robin!

Kindness is free. It makes us and the recipient feel good. Two very good reasons to practice it. Thank you for the reminder!

I think it's easy to fall into complacency when it comes to just being kind. Seeing yourself as a kind person is not enough. One has to be mindful of choosing to be kind in each and everything that we do. For me, it is a lifetime's work!
And, is there ver such a thing as too much kindness? I think not.
Enjoying my moments today of just being...

your home looks charming, cozy and welcoming! I find that I can't think too long on how our nation is evolving. Otherwise, I find myself down in the doldrums, too deep to find my way up easily. I pray that 2014 will find our president and government waking up to the sad realities and bring us back to a truly government BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE!
