...you've got to be willing...

Without black, no color has any depth.
But if you mix black with everything,
suddenly there's shadow - no, not just shadow,
 but fullness.
You've got to be willing to mix
black into your palette
if you want to create something that's real.

shadows.
i think.
just make you happy.
when you see them.
we had to pay.

to take this photo.
as it was on private property.
(the money was to take a self-guided tour)
of course i heard.
that after.
i snapped about a dozen photos.
oops.

I do love you shadow shot for the day, Robin, and the quote is perfect! Sorry about the $16!! Why do we always learn about charges after we've broken the rules??? Enjoy your weekend!!

OH OH! It's a neat shot...but $16? Yhanks for the warning. I'll be more careful...until I forget. ;))

Actually, I see lots of exclamation marks that are formed by shadow. Perhaps the punctuation marks are fitting as you may have exclaimed when you were given the $16 bill...great picture at any cost!

Love the idea of needing to mix black in any palette! Beautiful words! Shocked about the charge for photos! But your photo could easily pass as a mandala of beautiful shadow shapes!

I can imagine fairies tripping lightly around this shadowy mini-maze!

I always think there is something 'wrong' with the concept of charging people to take photos (other than the contractual/commerce kind of settings). It's as if they is an attitude that one can 'own' what others see.
Loved (also) the glass of chilled wine and sunset backdrop. Perfection!
