...profound and secret virtue...

to produce things and to rear them,
to produce, but not to take possession of them
to act, but not to rely on one's own ability,
to lead them, but not to master them -
this is called profound and secret virtue.
Lao-Tzu, the way of Lao-Tzu
busy times ahead.
last band concert.
prom tonight.
open house.
college orientation.
and all the life that goes on in between.
tho it's busy.
i will take this time.
savor every moment.
so that it won't be gone.
and i will regret missing it.
light + objects = shadows.
don't miss HEY HARRIET
enjoy the moments.
just BE.

Oh yes, we're a needy/greedy, gotta have society...but I still see hope on the horizon for human kind, but alas, it has to get a whole lotta worse before it gets a whole lotta better and we open our hearts to what really is!!!

Dreary, coolish day here in Iowa, but I'm redoing at the store, so I'm pumped and ready to roll...the truck is full of toys, but the sun will be shining inside, so I'm not worried, cause FUN is on the way! Have fun with your busy schedule, they're only young once(thanks God)...

Got my work boots on, but flip flops in it summer yet??? Thanks for the java...

Great it Robin!
Your kids are adorable below...what fun! We were just talking last night how May is the fastest, busiest month for kids (and parents!) - it goes by so fast & how I wish it would just slow down! Enjoy every moment :)

Lovely! But left me wanting to see the flowers that left that shadow on the old chair!

Magical shot! Sort of like pressback except better because it's ephemeral and unique. :)

The activities that surround our children surround us, too! We've been through two proms and college starts, and we remember with equal parts of winsome (for the past) and exhilaration (for the future). Our children are part of us, little or grown. We impart our values to them, and let them thrive on their own. Wonderful sentiments!

Week by week I admire your penchant for seeking out what I call "the little things"--shadows sometimes so imperceptible that many of us would miss them. I celebrate those "little things" with you!

A shadow’s a wonderful thing;
O listen! Can you hear it sing?
It tells of a time
Before there was crime—
Trust that and you’ll trust anything!

Love the delicate little flower ShadowShot! really do have busy times ahead. My baby is 30 years old, so those days of busy times are long past for me. Now it's busywork, nap, busywork, nap!! Have a great weekend.

Graduation is such a proud moment and one of huge relief that the milestone is met!
But, yes...slowing down to savor the moment is a mindful act. Otherwise, we just stumble through life oblivious to what is in front of us.
