...3.30.14...

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:25-34

as i sit on the back deck.
soaking in the sun.
even with my winter coat donned.
i am reminded.
as the birds are singing happily.
despite the depth of snow.
that still remains.
they are not sad.
they are not anxious.
they just trust.
that everything will be okay.
they will be taken care of.
and they will.
and so will we.
if we just keep the faith.
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.
just BE.

whenever I hear or read that particular scripture passage, I think, "Hey, Lord, I am a part of the birds' being fed because of my bird feeder." However, I think I recognize what He is saying to us is that we humans worry about too much that is not worthy.
I've yet to want to sit on my deck even with the sunshine. My bones just don't like the cold. Love the image of your coffee by the shoots shouting to us, "Yes, spring has sprung!"
