I so hope everything is as it should be when your computer comes back Robin. What a nightmare to have that happen.
Oh no! I had the same problem recently. My hard drive got fried from a laptop malfunction and I had gotten myself into a very bad habit of not processing and removing all the photos to our storage unit and to online sources, so I may have lost a lot. I was quoted a exorbitant price for specialized recovery at first and found another possibility that was more reasonable so I shipped my hard drive off so it can be taken apart in a cleanroom environment to see if the data can be recovered, so I have a new remote hope. I know this stuff is not that important in the end and I need to be able to deal with these mishaps which are really my own fault, but I agree about not wanting to talk about it!
