...sometimes nothing is everything...

found this on my camera today. matthew's contribution to sss.

"what we do for ourselves dies with us.
what we do for others and the world
 remains and is immortal"
~albert pine

sun and shadows.
moment of silence.
click on it under the photo.
great music.
great lyrics.
we all need a
moment.
of silence.
to regroup.
to catch our breath.
to bring the smile back to our face.
brent and his band.
are trying to make it into the tough world of music.
his sound is real.
not a 'produced' sound.
he is genuine.
please listen.
and if you would...pass it on.
a.
moment.
of.
silence.
that is what we can do for someone today.
just BE.
robin.

Your gardens look fabulous, mine are holding their own in spite of the weather, but it is what it is and then it's tomorrow...yayyyy!!!

Hey Tilda...are you still open...ha!

On a sunny and hot day, the turkey pauses in the shade. In the oppressive heat, doing nothing may be the wisest move, awaiting the later day to continue on its travels...

The leaf sit silently along with its shadow. No need to advertise its presence, it silently beckons us to look and admire. Nature and shadows combine wonderfully here!

your lines reminded me this line by Nietzsche - 'without music life would be a mistake'.

beautiful shots as always.

A beshadowed leaf! Exquisite!

COMPADRES

Shadows above me,
Shadows below;
Some shadows swift and
Some shadows slow;
All of these shadows,
It’s plain to see,
Are my compadres—
Sweet company!

I'd call Matthew's contribution the shadow of a dirty-bird! (The wild turkeys are VERY abundent here in N.Idaho!) I do love your leaf ShadowShot the best! Have a good weekend.

Love the leaf photo! And I don't know who Albert Pine is, but I like what he says. A moment of silence. This one brings so many thoughts forward. It is a phrase often used to memorialize someone that has passed or some tragic event, yet silent moments can help us be calm and change the outlook of any situation. I used to love the silence of the Northwoods in Winter. It is deafening. Very nice post. Thanks.

Peace

Turkey suprise, nice. Guess he wanted to join in on the shadow fun. The garden shot is beautiful. It's like the leaf is letting you peek at what's inside. Love it!
