...inner calm...

imagine
you're looking for a rare bird in the rainforest.
crashing through the undergrowth,
you make a great racket.
result:
you scare the creature away!
charging headlong through life,
without stopping for silent thought,
is one way to ensure that
the object of your quest
will elude you.
~1,001 ways to live in the moment

the sun has already shown
it's full self more
this month
than all of december.
it may only be in the mornings
then snow flurries
all afternoon...but.
there has been sun.
and sure, currently, it's -1 outside.
and sure, the tree branches are beautiful
adorned with frost
against a big orangish yellow backdrop.
but it's currently -1.
and i am not going out there this morning.
i know, i know...photo ops.
i am missing them.
perhaps if it warms to 5 above.
for now, it's time to head down under.
where there is always sunshine...and of course,
shadows.
that's why we head there...for shadows.
just BE.
robin.

A very beautiful post that seems to encourage a quiet, gentle inner journey! Love the gentle earthy hues in the photo surrounding the shadows!

I love the light in this :-)

The interior feels warmer in ambience, that being temperature and tone in the photo. A very cold morning can sap our photo-taking strength, yet we chronicle the inside - until a few extra degrees compel us to move outside - if for only a brief moment...

I'm with ya, photo ops two feet away in a sunny window...brrrr baby, it's cold outside!!! Same weather here, must be January huh...!

You know, truer words were never spoken...I've resolved myself to the fact that Winter is only a state of mind...and I can deal with it...right! I just keep finding the beauty in it and enjoy it slowly into the next day, when another surprise day in my life begins...never the same as the last...an adventure in the life!!!

And a new pair of double thick woolly socks helps...right Tilda!!!

Have a warm in yer heart kinda day sista!!!

YAY sun! The sun is actually shining here today for the first time in ages during an afternoon.

Sounds very cold out where you are!

Solid shadows, and shadows with holes...so lovely, so peaceful, so soothing.

Beautiful and very calming. And I'd be staying indoors also if the outside temp is -1! Yikes! I'm sure the photo ops will still be there when it warms up to 5 :)

Oh and I love your banner photo! I know it's been there for a little while but I think I forgot to say how much I liked it. Have a lovely week Robin. I hope temps reach 5 and above for you.
