...provided we have the courage...

straight out of the camera

"what we call our destiny
 is truly our character
and that character can be altered.
the knowledge that we are responsible
for our actions and attitudes
does not need to be discouraging,
because it also means that we are free to change this destiny.
one is not in bondage to the past,
which has shaped our feelings,
 to race, inheritance, background.
all this can be altered if we have the courage
to examine how it formed us.
we can alter the chemistry
provided we have the courage to dissect the elements."
~anais nin
i chased this shadow
 i was looking for them
 from the floor view.
i rather like it.
it is Sunday again, down under.
that means shadow shot Sunday is underway.
do join us.
just BE.

These old suitcases are wonderful - they have travelled for eons, to many a place. In any mode, but they seem as if the went during the classic days of long distance railroads - maybe even the time of steam engines. Nicely captured, the luggage of the past...

I like it too, and the idea of moving on goes well with the words you chose today. You are very talented.

Love the works of Anais, she's one of my faves, wish I could save the guilt for another day and read all the books that I've been stashing away for a Winter's day.

Quite cold today, but at least no snow yet and still in the 40-50's, however, I think the change is in the air, the air, it feels damp and brutal, just turned up the furnace and kettled a cup o java...now to nestle with a good DVD and the heathen...does it get much better...not in my world.

Wore the woolies today Tilda, it gave such a warm fuzzy feeling, better git used to it, huh!!!

Have a great one girls!

Scrumptious shot of the suitcase, for sure! And always the most befitting quote. Very inspirational.

Wonderful shot. Such beautiful textures, evocative and somehow melancholy.

Stunning shot of the old suitcases and the handle. Since I have been visiting your lovely site, I am always impressed by your words.
Beautiful - the flow - and I just love your courage with them.

Brilliant photo! I love the words too!

Very cool ShadowShot. I had trouble shedding those old suitcases that have so much character, but not much practical function at a modern ariport. The handle alone tells a story!!

I'm very fond of shallow DOF and this is no exception. The shadow is the icing on the cake!
