...i am i said...

"all my life i had been looking for something,
and everywhere i turned someone tried to tell me what it was.
 i accepted their answers too,
though they were often in contradiction and even
self-contradictory.
 i was naïve.
i was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself
questions which i, and only i, could answer.
it took me a long time and much painful
boomeranging of my expectations to achieve
a realization everyone else appears to have been
born with:
that i am nobody but myself."

"i am.
i said.
i am.
said i."

    SHADOW, BE TRUE

My shadow has come out to play.
Oh, shadow, please don’t run away!
    Stay here by my side,
    Pretend you’re my bride—
Be true to me now and alway!

  2. What a better place to be the 'I am' than with family in the great outdoors, let's enjoy it while we can and our freedoms still ring(sorta)in these troubling times. It is important to believe who you are, no one can take that away from you...you da man!!!

Have a safe holiday lil' sister and control that crazy Momma of yours(like minds)...very scary!!!Ha!!!

  3. We are unique individuals, the light and shadow may fall on all, but we interpret things as we will alone. An poem of truth, we must be true to ourselves first. The feet are a pair from one person - the view of one with, yet one apart from the herd...

  4. What a delicate little shadow on your ankle! The quote made me burst into that old Neil Diamond song. Each of us is so individual. So especially ourselves,no? Have a good weekend Miss Robin.

  11. My youngest daughter once told me, "Dad, you're never gonna find what you're looking for."
She was talking to me about all the traveling I was doing at the time. Oh, I still travel, but I have more purpose now, and not just running away like I had done in the past. I became okay with it, and accepted... me.
I love the sharing you';ve done here, thankmyou. I hope you are having a great time camping.

    Peace

  12. "Be true to thine own self". Easy to say. Hard to do. A work of a lifetime, or sure! But, the closer we get to it, the better off we are! I love those toes!
