this is a magical beast
that holds the secret of
light & shadow
in a safe place in her heart
& when it has been too long grey,
she starts to dance & laugh & cry & sing
& the sunlight fills her up
& spills in wild abandon
back into the world again.

this is on my
february calendar.
i just love storypeople.
winter is spent with way too much grey.
i believe that.
dancing.
laughing.
crying.
singing.
go a long way.
to replenishing the light.
in our souls.
just BE.

An interesting way to look at both sides of the issue?!
Wonderful shadow shot and the perfect words for the day, Robin!! Enjoy your weekend!!
It does not take much solar warmth and shadows to fill us with hope, and more importantly, joy to our winter weary gray. We then have the hope that the brighter and seasonal Spring days are not to far away. The sun offers us brilliance along with solace!
both your header photo and the post photo are wonderful- Your images always relax me and enable me to really BE!
interesting light and colours in this interior shot
The clock, I think, is marking the passing of the shadows. And when the last shadow has passed...ah, someone else will have to end the story!
Blushing Shadows
Robin girl I am liking the Story People a great deal since you have been quoting them : )
I am fascinated by clocks (have way too many watches) bought old Dutch ones while in Holland .. and the "mother" of all clocks ? .. my grandfather clock ! haha
Something about time, quantum mechanics, and worm holes ?
Joy : )
I call this image, 'soul food' as that is the effect on me (and my soul). And I too, love Storypeople. Thanks for being the one who brought its existence to my attention.
Beautifully framed photo of that clock and shadows, and a perfect poem to go with. Nice entry!
Love your header photo ~ Your shadow photography is divine ~

Love the antidote to an overload of winter greys! So inspiring! And adore the photo of a clock fragment and the focus on shadow shapes! Very creative! It reaches the soul!
Love that shot!
Shadowy Background.
Your comment is always appreciated..
Great post. You have such an eye for photography and always have such interesting perspectives in your shots. Not to mention insightful and inspiring words.
Happy Sunday!
neat shadow of a moment in time
Your new header is beautiful!
Grey. Grey. Grey. Here too.
Can't wait sunny days...
Have a good week ahead!
Robim, essa foto está perfeita. A meia-luz traz uma atmosfera de filme. Um abraço!
Hello dear Rob,
TY for the sweet prose. It seems you (storypeople) wrote my life. So me.
Great shot, girl!
GB on a nice Sunday.
Hugs,

Your photos are so up close and personal. Love the chair header and the mystery of the clock.
Winter is filled with monochromatic days. But would we enjoy the other seasons half so much if not for the building anticipation and longing. Our souls need a pause to regroup and properly enjoy the coming of blossoms that signal renewal.
Your comments are oh so true for February!
Love the shadows created inside - we had the same idea!
