...7.26.09...

the marigolds are borrowed from
a sunny day.
they themselves, however, are
sweet droplets of sunshine anytime.
today i had coffee with the awe-manac: a daily dose of wonder.
i peeked ahead to this...
the inner awe-lixer
finding your inner--view
it's what's on the inside that counts
take the time to come home to yourself everyday. ~robin casarjean
the outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to reflect their inner beliefs.
~james allen
with the realization of one's own potential and self confidence in one's own ability, one can build a better world. ~dalai lama
...there is no place like inner space...
a place of acceptance, relaxation, peace and calm:
home.
whenever you go there it is.
the inner awe-lixer is filled
with all of your favorite inner states of being:
the middle of marvels,
at-one,
letting go:
and of course,
inner peace.
these beings grow when the meditative spirit is cultivated,
when we opt to release the struggle,
when we flow with the peaceful vine of the flowing breath.

remember the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you. ~rumi
it is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.
~agnes repplier
what might happen if you find your inner--view you ask?
possible effects:
results in discovering a calm presence,
grace,
strength of spirit,
the possible-self,
expansiveness,
assured contentment,
a fountain of inner beauty visible on the outside,
brilliant corridors of imagination;
grounded in visceral clarity;
restoring through stillness,
meditation and spiritual connection.
good food for thought
on this Sunday morning.
coffee was also spent with
as she is the winner of my
200th post giveaway!!!
congrats my dear friend...
send me an email with your address
and i will be sending you

that has been an inspiration to me.

...a clay vessel...

A lump of ordinary clay
is chosen
from the amorphous pile of the clay heaped on the floor.
The potter has an end product in mind,
a vessel that will be useful
to its final owner
and a credit to the potter's craftsmanship and experience.
The potter labors
over the clay forming and shaping and
forming it until the final product is realized.
The pot then can be fired and decorated - but
if it cracks or turns out misshapen,
it is no big deal to discard it altogether.
Can we imagine a mere clay pot complaining to the potter?
Does the pot have "rights" of it's own?
No,
it exists,
and finds useful service
as an ordinary kitchen pot or a beautiful vase,
solely because the potter intended it for such an end.

...hope...

While there's life, there's hope. ~Cicero

Hope is a desire for something to happen,
while expecting or being confident that it will come true.
Hope also implies a certain amount of perseverance,
believing that something is possible even when there is some evidence to the contrary.
Hope may be directed toward something minor or towards something extremely significant. "False hope" is hoping for something that is extremely unlikely or unrealistic.
Hope quotes describe the possibility of certain chance
of an event or a happening to take place in your life.
Quotes may inspire the people
to hold their lives with full spirit
with a hope that their life would take a
positive turn and all the sadness
from their lives would be gone.
Hope is the only virtue that makes you sail through even in your worst period of life.
i had violets planted
in pots in these two spots
last year.
before i went outside
with my morning coffee
i had read some "political things"
which is very depressing if you want to think about it.
while i don't have "hope" in our political powers,
i have hope in the higher Power,
for He is the one
who planted the seeds
in both of these impossible places to grow.
and they are growing.
and this gives me hope.
everything is possible through Him.

...imagination...

"the tree
which moves
some to tears of joy
is in the eyes of others
only a green thing
that stands in the way.
some see
nature all ridicule and deformity...
and some
scarce see nature at all.
but
to the eyes
of the man of imagination,
nature is imagination itself."
~ William Blake

...importance of solitude...

if women were convinced
that a day off
or an hour
of solitude
was a reasonable ambition,
they would
find a way of attaining it.
as it is,
they feel so unjustified
in their demand
that they rarely
make the attempt.

...sisterhood...

how splendid a feeling it
is to
get on the computer
at the end of a long day of
moving your work office
to a new location...
to have a wonderful
friend sends you an award.

what a privilege to receive this
from my friend, sharon, from
sweet repose. i came across
Sharon a while ago when i put
her website on my mom's website.
i loved her outlook on life, and her taste
in music...because her tastes are so similar to mine.
i set out into
this venture of blog world because
i am crazy about taking pictures,
i am crazy about quotes and poems
and stuff that makes you think.
i am crazy about nature.
i am crazy about music.
i simply love life.
and i love life simple.
and i just wanted to share what i
see in an ordinary still frame.
if i could make one person smile, or spark a memory, or share a moment with someone..
that is what i was hoping for.
what i have gained from this
sisterhood is so much more than I could have
imagined. there are so many kindred spirits
out there.
...i could not tell if there were rules to this award...
but i would like to pass it on to joanne.
she is my california girl,
sharon and i would share coffee on the porch.
joanne and i would share tea.
(or red wine...and much laughter and probably tears...even tho we've never "met")
her talent is limitless.
her heart is genuine and true.
her words, like sharon's, touch your soul.
i am blessed to have these two ladies in my life...
(and all the wonderful people i have met)
so i raise my cup to my sistas, with thanks and gratitude for what you have brought to my life.
love and hugs.
just BE.

...soul journey...

The Soul’s Path
by Deborah Soukup

I travel the road set before me
Though the destination’s unknown
With trust and grim resolution
I know I must journey alone
But others travel around me
And our paths meander and cross
Then forks or a rocky embankment
Leave me searching, my Soul at a loss
With faith and some apprehension
My fear dissolves in delight
As a new road forms there before me
And I take the path to the right
Mountains swell all around me
Their summits lost to a storm
Then I notice the road ahead falters
And I drop to my knees, my heart torn
The road behind is but a memory
A shadow is all that remains
But the darkness glimmers with wisdom
And I see all the lessons I’ve gained
So with one step I tackle the mountains
I endure the wrath of the storm
Some Souls travel beside me
While others leave me lost and forlorn
When dawn caress’ the morning
And the road is again straight and true
I find I am so much the stronger
The disappointments I hold but a few
The Soul travels a journey
From birth to the heavens above
Though the road is often rocky
It is made easier when there is love
welcome to coffee hour.
welcome to this Sunday morning.

...viewfinder...

a photographer friend of my brother said.
don't take a picture unless you know it's going to turn out.
don't waste your time.
ee-gads...
i'd be in trouble.
over the course of the weekend
and the last couple of days,
i've taken well over 200 photos.
some good, some not.
but the fact remains
it makes me
happy
to look through
my viewfinder and snap away
to my hearts content.
find a cool angle,
catch a raindrop, a sundrop, a dewdrop...
it doesn't matter
it's all good.

...7.5.09...

brief sunshine.
today is not suppose
to give us much
in
the
way of
sun.
tilda and i
did, however, enjoy sun
while we had coffee
on the porch this morning.
blue and gandie enjoy
the freedom that summer
gives them.
the turkeys were looking for a morning meal.
mattie spent a brief cuddle session
with blue.
and the hummingbird was making frequent
trips to the feeder.
to me,
this would be all i need.
quiet, simple times on the porch.
this would bore most people,
those who always need to be doing something,
bigger, better, faster.
not me.
i have come to leaving books, that I've read,
around the house.
everyday as i walk into the kitchen i see
The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.
it is an amazing book about
Randy who is dying from pancreatic cancer.
i strongly urge you to read it...
you can also see his last lecture here.
i want to share with you one of
the last things
he wrapped his lecture up with.
"it's not about how you achieve your dreams.
it's about how to lead your life.
if you lead your life the right way,
the karma will take care of itself.
the dreams will come to you."
welcome to coffee hour.
