...things that have never been...

and now let us welcome the New Year
full of things that have never been.
~rainer maria rilke
january,
the month of new beginnings and cherished memories,
beckons.
Come, let winter weave
her wondrous spell:
cold, crisp, woolen muffler days,
long dark evenings of savory suppers,
lively conversation,
or solitary joys.outside the temperature drops
as the snow falls softly.
all of nature is at peace.
we should be, too.
draw hearthside.
this is the month to dream,
to look forward to the year ahead
and
the
journey
within.
~simple abundance: a daybook of comfort and joy
and so it begins.
the new year.
let the excitement
of new possibilities,
new dreams,
carry you through one day
at a time,
as to not be overwhelmed
by 2010 as a whole.
baby steps.
it can happen.

light + objects= shadows
it's here again
hello 2010.
just BE.
robin.

I suppose the berries are beyond ripe. Yet their form reflect the light and accept the shadows well. The sunlight that allows for the shadows is a faraway orb up there, but the warmth of the sun makes feel wark in the cold new year. A beautiful picture surrounded be wonderful thoughts...

Lovely moody shot. In the same style as your opening banner (which I love)

Are those black walnuts...I'll have a bumper crop again this year, the squirrels were burying like crazy...boy was it cold today, don't think it got above 6 all day!

Mr. Linky wasn't working this morning before I had to head off to the shop at 7:30, so I was a little late, but Tracie came through again for me and automatically put my name in...can't miss these shadow days!

The store did wonderful today, we were surprised under the circumstances and everyone was really cool about it all and actually thought it was funny how we were getting by the zoning issues...junkers prevail!!!

Have wonderful Sunday lil' friend, I'll be over early for coffee, work doesn't start till noon...yayyyy...

See ya then...s

Your photos are always so calming. You have such a flair for capturing simple beauty. I love the beginning of a new year and you are right about taking baby steps a day at a time. It can be overwhelming to think of all the things need doing. Want to be doing...
