..."a wave that rolls you over as you're ready to drown"...

from this bench.
lichened and worn.
it has seen much life.
it has heard much laughter.
it has seen much sadness.
it hears whispers of healing.
it waits for someone to sit upon.
it's curved weathered boards.
to sit.
and dream.
to smile.
and remember.

evening shadows.
are probably my favorite.
you can choose your favorite there.
just BE.

    SING A SONG OF SHADOWS

    Sing a song of shadows
    Taller than a tree!
    Sing a song of shadows
    Wider than the sea!
    Sing a song of shadows
    Dancing in the sun!
    Sing a song of shadows—
    Day is almost done!

  4. Why would you buy modern plastic furniture, when the old wooden bench holds all those memories!!

  5. No matter what the age of the bench, its look is of functionality and artistry at the same time. The seating seems to arrive at the moment we need to take a break, to relax a bit. The purpose is to sit and regroup, energizing us. Any wood, either new or old and weathered accepts our being without complaint...

  14. LOVE your header, simple country life...I'm being serenaded by the neighborhood roos, back and forth each in sync, they call in a sunrise...what a beautiful morn, we had a T-storm with a wonderful much needed rain...been a tough year for gardening this year, but today I have a date with a bushel of tomaters and the sun, as we Northuners know all too well what's on the horizon...I won't say it...K...

Hey Tilda...I have a free rooster for ya...will deliver...(I wish) have a great Sunday kids!
