...of quiet breathing...

 i believe i've used this photo before...
it's a sweater from when i was a baby...

"a thing of beauty is a joy forever:
 its loveliness increases;
it will never pass into nothingness;
but still will keep a bower quiet for us,
and a sleep full of sweet dreams,
and health,
 and quiet breathing."
--John Keats

quiet breathing.
quiet.
breathing.
outside snow is falling.
quietly.
after rain fell yesterday.
the snow making a quiet blanket.
over the ice.
ice and snow.
not a good combination.
light + objects = shadows
better combination.
great combination.
sunlight.
brilliance.
warmth.
shadows.
better combination.
just BE.
robin.

  2. The shadow adds a cool touch to the weave, yet the sweater and other light emphasizes the warmth inside the home. The snow offers a blanket to the ground, of course not a warm one. We look for warmth during this cold season - visual or otherwise...

  3. Marvelous shadow shot and perfect words! It does sound cold there - AGAIN! Robin!! Hope you can stay in and stay warm, but know you're as eager as the rest of us to be able to enjoy a little sun, warmth, blue skies???? YES!!! Hope you have a great weekend anyway!!

  8. Just don't know how you do it living that far North...and I complain about the weather here in the deep south, well, maybe not that far south(dream on)but we got snow today too, but it didn't scare us, it didn't even stick to anything, just a vague threat. I certainly do know 'bout that snow covered ice, it's treacherous, that's why I'm trying so hard to get my soap sales going, so I never have to leave my house in the winter.

    Didn't wear my woolly socks for a whole week, but they sure feel good today...this makes the coffee hour so much sweeter, right! Your little sweater looks similar to one my daughter had, she was so cuddly in it!

    Stay warm and outta the ditch lil' sis and tell Tilda I'm drooling over the wisk brooms...ha...what a collection(doesn't take much for us huh!)

  9. Your baby sweater (feels funny to type that word as we don't use it over here) looks so snuggly! I don't have any of my old baby sweaters/jumpers :(

    Hopefully that light snow is the last of it for a while. Sunny warm days ahead! Enjoy the rest of your weekend Robin!

  16. holding these tender relics of our childhood in our hands, it is as if we are holding something quiet and essential of ourselves, from a time before... a time when we knew everything and nothing, and that there wasn't really any difference in between...

    gorgeous photo, love the John Keats quote, and as always, your beautiful reflections...
