thanksgiving morning.

several hours before the family was up.

i had the blessing.

of having my coffee on the porch.

the sun was shining.

low in the sky.

there was a slight breeze.

but nothing a light fleece.

couldn't handle.

the temperature soared to 66 that day.

the smell of turkey permeated the house.

as a wonderful breeze poured.

in the kitchen window.

with the children all home.

we sat and shared a meal.

with grateful hearts.

and even with the very next day.

bringing a significant drop in temperatures.

and driving snow.

we can give thanks.

for our health.

because.

unlike material possessions.

it's the one thing.

that we will miss if it's gone.
