advice is like snow -
the softer it falls,
the longer it dwells upon,
and the deeper it sinks into the mind.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
holy snow fall batman.
we got about 8 inches of the
heavy white stuff.
in just a matter of hours.
last night.
i fell asleep on the couch.
for about a half hour.
got up to look out the window.
and thought.
that's funny.
i could see mom and dad's house
a half hour ago.
the spruce tree was so full of snow.
that it was hanging, blocking the house.
yikes.
thankfully no where to go today!!
this picture
i went out and took last night.
it is with flash...
(i shudder.)
but didn't turn out good without it.
(and i was getting pelted with snow...so didn't spend a lot of time)
hopefully there are shadows out there from sun.
and not from a flash.
going to enjoy my coffee.
and surfing sites.
have a wonderful weekend wherever you may be!!
just BE.
robin.
Shadows are shadows, whether from sun or flash! :) Enjoy your lovely late snowfall.

Such a wonderful quote about advice!
ReplyDelete...i know mmt. i just cringe when i Have to use it!!
ReplyDeleteNo snow for us.....but we aren't saying that we won't, that's when we'd get slammed! Love your quote about snow and advice....so true, so true! Enjoy your day....and your snow :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture regardless of the light or lack thereof! Our weather is relatively mild, but just GRAY! The minute the sun peeks out, people are flocking outside and we're all blinking in the bright light!! Ah, but spring is on its way! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Robin!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
No snow here - we have the first leaves appearing, and the promise of spring.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
You chose a wonderful quote to grace us with today, thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour simple image is, as usual, a delight.
Love this! The Shadoww Shot and the saying. I must try to heed the "soft advice" part. Sometimes I come off like tar on tires rather than snow falling gently. Oh dear, another thing I need to work on. Happy SSS.
ReplyDeleteAh! And all we got here was a dusting in the early morning which quickly disappeared. I love the quote about advice. I guess mine for my son falls too heavy!
ReplyDeleteI love the Coleridge quote.
ReplyDeleteYour photo reminds me of a frigid cotton swab. :) I'm glad you braved the cold to bring it to us.
The seasons of winter and spring are bridged nicely - the leaf is strong enough to hold that wet snow, so the winter season will not prevent the leaf from growing in the spring warmth. More sun we shall se with the time change next weekend, and the snow will depart your area soon...great conflict between cold and warm!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your commitment for the shadow shot! :)
ReplyDeleteThe quote is so true. Not always easy to speak softly though.
Perfect Robin--Perfect- flash or not! Love the snow--but we had severe weather--Scary!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week!
John
my perspective lesson for today...thanks John.
ReplyDeletewhile we have had a winter's dump of snow in a day and a half...and it continues. it is not the devastation that our neighbors in the south lands received. may God surround them and meet them where they are during this horrific time.
Gorgeous image, nicely captured..and your quote is very relevant.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowy fragment veiled in shadows! So soft and serene! A sense of heavy silence! And love your story behind the moment!
ReplyDeletebeautiful shot, love the snow when its fluffy like that....but honestly haven't missed it this year with our mild winter...
ReplyDeletehave a great week and thank you for visiting my blog
& Amen!
ReplyDeleteJ
The weather this year is so weird. We were in the high 60s yesterday and today we had a little snow fall hehehe. Beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for your beautiful contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday!

Guess what...SUN's shining second day here in Helsinki! I'm so happy :)
ReplyDeleteSnow is melting and soon it looks dirty but I don't mind if the SUN is up and smiling!
No more snow thank you,
more sun and green please! :)
Have a good week ahead!
Gorgeous picture.
ReplyDeleteNow, shouldn't that be (I Shutter) Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot with or without a flash. We got some snow too, but not all that much. I have 2 large white pines in my front yard and there are well defined circles of brownish white grass stubble under them, yet the fronds of the tree are heavily laden with the white stuff. Due to melt this week as temps are to be well above the freezing point. Have a great day.
Peace
Robin we didn't get as much snow as you have .. the lack of snow all winter is a BIG concern because our ground water will be just about nill .. let alone all of the lakes in the area will be much lower than they should be too.
ReplyDeleteHey that was a great shot with a perfect matching quote girl !
Joy : )
PS .. hope your daughter was alright through those storms !
nice monochrome shot. :)
