...say his name...

hosted by lisa gordon photography.
he took breath
in this house.
he shared laughter.
he gave hugs.
he gave memories that
will last a lifetime.
a daily reminder
of a truly great man.
herman e. byers.
just BE.

  4. What a beautiful to remember someone for whom you cared. I would love to know the history behind the name. Your capture is lovely, and the muted colors so pleasant to the eye. Fine photography.

  5. herman e. byers was my grandpa on my dad's side. my family and i live in the house that i grew up in as a child-until i married. my grandparents lived across the road from us. many moments were spent either in this house or theirs...or any number of places on the farm. so he breathed in this house, he brought life to the farm that he worked, he brought smiles, he brought love, he gave us memories...and i was very sad when he died...because i was still under the impression that he would live forever (and i was a grown women). but he does live...he lives in our hearts. and he does...because you say his name...and i thank you for that!! if you say their name...they will not be forgetten.
the sign is from the top of his mailbox from many years ago...and i am blessed to have it. and it sets in this house...and my heart smiles.
