quotes from photographers today.
i like what they are saying.
words and pictures.
together.
communicate.
i take pictures.
when i use them, here,
the thoughts come to me.
and it seems that my thoughts
and the picture go hand in hand.
i don't arrange a
shot.
i arrange myself to the shot.
thus a lot of belly time.
or squatting.
or bending over.
it's not about me...but what i see through
the lens.
simplicity.
the moment is held until
someone sees it.
i love, love, love.
photography.
see what others have seen.
light + objects = shadows.
what do you see today?
just BE.
robin.
I too wonder what my neighbors think, as I crawl around my yard all hours of the day...it would be so sad to be in the dark all of the time, not opening up your eyes to the possibilities all 'round...we are blessed I guess...we see!
ReplyDeleteMy lil' peeps must be happy in their new environment, they were scurrying around this morning making Scratchy bark...they're temporary set up is in the grooming room, far away from trouble(Scratchy).
In 20 years of raising chickens, I never lost a bird to predators, but I had a covered run...it was a great place to grow my birdhouse gourds on and it was high enough that the birds couldn't reach to peck as they hung down...however, we were up in the middle of the night once with loaded shotguns, as 4 coons invaded our duck pen...4 pelts on the wall and 10 ducks in the freezer, guess it was a win, win...'cept for the coon!
It's the way of it in the country, especially since man has encroached so deep into habitat.
See ya in the morrow for some java...be well lil' sis!
Hey Tilda, I don't have wool socks on today, but then again...I have to work...DRAT!!!

I hadn't thought of barbed wire as artistic - that is, until the shadow appeared! The look of metal items so often accents their function alone. Yet, the changing light adds an artistry to the function, and looks soft and lovely...
ReplyDeleteI like what they are saying also Robin!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post, and such wonderful photographs to go with it!
I wish you a beautiful weekend.
Super shadow shots - I love rusty things (I know that's strange!)
ReplyDeleteI always love the creativity of your captures, Robin! They're always original, different and fun! Do hope you have a great weekend! Stay warm!

It's always a toss up what impacts me more....your words or your images. but it doesn't matter. love them both. especially this - "I don't arrange a shot. I arrange myself to the shot."
ReplyDeleteit's always such a pleasure to sit with you Robin. I hope your weekend is lovely and peaceful.
A beautiful collection of rusty beauty in light and shadow! All have a sensitive presence as if delivering some secret solace for the soul! A beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the shadow of the barbed wire. For some unknown reason I am fascinated by barbed wire, especially if it's rusty and makes neat shadows. :)
ReplyDeleteI too always love what you capture. These are all great, specially love the last one with the barbed wire.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quotes accompanying your exquisite photos! I've also found myself in some awkward positions while taking photos. It's all part of the fun adventure of capturing that perfect little moment. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Robin :)
ReplyDeleteThe barbed wire shadow is great--so interesting. Yes, your writing is inspirational too. Mickie
ReplyDeleteOh, agreed 10 times over!! I approach it the same as you do! Weird positions to shoot from. On my belly a lot too. Ignoring the people navigating around me.
ReplyDeleteI call this love of the image and showing it a celebration of the mundane. Calling to attention the details in life that many ignore that abounds in beauty.
P.S. I LOVE rusty things.
ReplyDeleteI love, love this post!
ReplyDeleteYour shots and words as one...
Have a great week ahead!
Love love love the barbed wire pic.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures and the words that go with them. They always seem to blend so well together
ReplyDeleteI agree with you as well. It is such fun to find things and photograph them in their natural state.
ReplyDeleteLove the barbed wire shadow.
As for positions, I can't squat (darned creaky knees) but I can bend over or sit down on the ground if someone is there to help me back up!
Wow ~ that made me sound like an old lady. tee hee
Enjoy your Sunday.
Simply lovely!
ReplyDeleteRobin...we so enjoy popping in to see your photos - they are always simple & beautiful, as they should be! Giggling at the snow picture above....it's just not quite ready to leave us yet, is it?!! OH what to do....enjoy it because it will someday be gone and another season will, hopefully, be here:)
ReplyDeleteOooo that rusty barbed wire sure makes a neat ShadowShot! Loved your post with the skunk pic too...Those fellows aren't usually out in day light hours. Great capture!!
ReplyDeleteI'm very late for SSS, but I am here now anyway! I LOVE these quotes! So wonderful along with your beautiful photos (WOW!!!) and words. I love coming here. So inspiring.
