a day of snow.
today the remains
lie only on the fringes of the yard.
the first snow,
i will admit.
is pretty.
but, to me, not appreciated.
shadows, however, are.
here's to summer dreams-
to sustain us through the coming months

The winter cometh, we all know. The strong southern sun leaves strong shadows on the deck, that we can see and enjoy. The leaf seems to say that it is still autumn, and a nice day or two will occur. Winter awaits, however not today...

ReplyDeleteYes, it's a quiet beauty, the moment of the fall...BUT then the chaos of driving to and from or just down the unploughed lanes or out of a parking space you barely got into, the black ice, the frozen noses and eyeballs, the lost mittens and long underwear...is it Spring yet!!! I'm a not a winter fan, it cuts into my profits!!! But who doesn't love Autumn...beautiful!!!
