the ball
left in the yard
after a time of play.
left out amongst the
leaves that now cover the ground.
the hoop will see play again...
probably not until next spring.
the outdoor sports will soon change to indoor ones.
the voices become quieter
right along with the days.
as we retreat inside.
to the comfort and warmth of our homes.
oh i know...
there are many days of nice weather coming.
but yet,
we still prepare.
that's what we do.
