"the windows
of my soul
i throw
wide open to the
sun"
~john greenleaf whitter
today is gray
here in my skies.
and yet,
the birds sing sweetly.
if they are content
so am i.
that just means
that the sun won't be
beckoning me outside.
and that means
i can spend
some time at
for more shadows.
come on over.
have a wonderful day.
inside or out.
just BE.
robin.
Love how that grill looks like it is fabric, just turning downward - awesome shot to look at (although, we've got a hankerin' for some smores right now!!)
ReplyDeleteToday is gray in my world too, but it smells fresh and clean after the gully-washer this AM... wish I could come to Tilda's sale, but alas, it is my day to work in the store...when's her next sale, I may have to plan for this one.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend lil' sis...and a great sale Tilda!!!
A soul window

Shadowy Pergola
What a lovely shadow and quote!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I happened to read your list of fav. books - we have so many the same!
have you read "Still Alice" or some of Jodie Picoults?
have a great weekend!
Some may see a look that is cold as the rocks sit under and around an iron grate. Yet the rust color adds a bit of warmth to the scene, and the sun though weak adds a beautiful hue all around. The shadow is well defined and lovely, too!
ReplyDeleteInteresting shot, I had to look very carefully to make out what was real and what was shadow.
ReplyDeleteMaggie
Marvelous shadow shot as always, Robin, and I love the quote. We have beautiful sunny skies for the first time in a while and I'd forgotten how glorious the sunshine is!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
a super shadow shot - although I can't quite decide what it is!!
ReplyDeleteCool shadow; I really like the textures in this.
ReplyDeleteSurfing and came across your blog today. Lovely photos and sentiments.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you don't have to grow up : )
There is always a magical quality about stopping by here. The invite to be be in the moment. TO 'just be' as you say.
ReplyDeleteAnd, such a lovely shadow image to boot!
A very beautiful capture. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteRunning Squirrel
Fantastic shot. Aren't shadows wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the verse is perfect.
A fascinating shadow shot - the source so different looking from the shadow itself!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, it's a grey day here too! More time to spend on Shadow Shot Sunday indeed!
ReplyDeleteI too have a grey world today! But the atmosphere is gentle and tends to invite a sleepy kind of dream! Intriguing photo with lots of interesting shapes!
ReplyDeleteCan I walk straight in? You sound to be such a nice person and I also like your very sharp shadow shot.
ReplyDeleteLovely image and verse. It's absolutely MISERABLE here in Brisbane today, but I guess we have to expect that in winter. Hurry up Spring!
ReplyDeleteThere's so much to admire in this photo. The lovely old rusty metal thingie (yes I'm sure that is the correct technical term for it), such well defined crispy shadows, AND the gorgeous colours of the object the shadows are cast upon! Wow!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend Robin. I hope Missy Sunshine pays you a visit :)
What a lovely shadow..It is very gloomy here too..As much as I miss the sun..I keep being thankful it is warm and no snow..
ReplyDeleteHappy SSS.
Amazing shot... such a rusty, sharp shadow! Lovely! Makes me think of a bee hive!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote .... it set me of thinking!
Enjoy your week!
What a wonderful shadow shot - very unique as well.
