...day three sixty.

It is still so new & all we see is the empty space,
but that is not how it is in the landscape of the heart.
There, there is no empty space & she still laughs &
grapples with ideas & plans & nods wisely with each of us
in turn. We are proud to have known her.
We are proud to have called her friend....

a day.
very trying to my BE'ing.
i felt, on my drive home.
if i could just get behind my lens.
my heart could be happy.
it was late, getting home.
so this is what i got with my phone.
then i went and had dinner across the road.
with my folks.
sometimes.
just BE'ing the kid.
at your parents house.
is enough.
that is my moment.
day three sixty.
just BE.

...three sixty one...

"life always give us exactly the teacher we need
at every moment.
this includes every mosquito,
every misfortune,
every red light,
every traffic jam,
every obnoxious supervisor
(or employee),
every illness, every loss,
every moment of joy or depression,
every addiction,
every piece of garbage,
EVERY BREATH.

every moment is the guro."

...three sixty two.

It is not what you first think.
There is no effort of will, no firm resolve in the face of this thing called living.
There is only paying attention to the quiet each morning,
while you hold your cup in the cool air
& then that moment you choose to spread your love like a cloth upon the table &
invite the whole day in again.
~storypeople

one may look at an icicle.
and think about how it forms on the eves.
as it gets cold and the water freezes in a slow fall.
i look at the icicle and think.
how cool the sunset looks in it.
it's a moment.
that makes me stop and pause.
it's a moment that makes my heart happy.
just because i see it.
it is three sixty two.
in moments that make me happy.
join me won't you.
just BE.

...1.3.16...

...three sixty three.

"The latest book from Brian Andreas on the impossibility of knowing anything & why it's very good news for being your most alive...
Impossible to Know is a whole new collection of drawings & stories from the internationally known artist & writer behind StoryPeople. Unlike earlier books, this one is unusual in its form, with the entire book done entirely in his distinctive handwriting. With his beautifully poetic stories & line drawings, Andreas lightly guides you into a new world where even the dark is simply another shape of light.
Dive in to Impossible to Know & experience a world filled with laughter & delight & love. A world where you see that everything is part of the adventure of being alive. Where it's clear that this world is so impossible to know that the only choice you have to make is relaxing into effortless joy..."

...three sixty four...

I like to imagine impossible things,
because when I only imagine possible things,
I pretty much see stuff I already expect to see.

...12.13.15...

I hope someday you see this is all life wants:
for you to be your own kind of beautiful
& not the kind that makes you forget who you are.
~storypeople

welcome to michigan.

and it's 45 degrees.

they say snow is coming next week.
i am okay with the rain.

may you find an opportunity.
to bring your inside Christmas.
to someone outside.
who could use some Christmas spirit.

...if i had known...

If I had known everything
I know about who you are
back when I didn’t know
a thing about you
I would’ve pulled you aside
sooner & said Thank You
for being one of the most
incredible people I will
ever know.
~storypeople

i am going with a candle light shadow.
as the snow has gently started to fall.
all of lower michigan is headed for snow cover today.
especially southern michigan.
i am located where your ring sits on your left hand.
we are suppose to get only 2"-4"
let the "i'm in the ditch" begin.
as people forget how to drive on snow.
and continue to drive like it's summer time out.
at least we've been blessed with no snow until today.
who would you say "thank you" to?
just BE.

What color are souls? she said &
I said, Color isn’t that much of an issue
when you’re talking souls.
~storypeople

my summer yard is gone.
the colors become muted.
the flowers are quiet.
the sound of fall is the chickadee.
silence is coming.
with the current world issues...
silence is okay.
enjoy these moments.
