Sadhu Sundar Singh, an early twentieth-century Indian missionary, wrote,
“A silkworm was struggling out of the cocoon and an ignorant man saw it battling as if in pain,
so he went and helped it to get free, but very soon after it fluttered and died.
The other silkworms that struggled out without help suffered,
but they came out into full life and beauty,
with wings made strong for flight by their battle for fresh existence.”

"You’ll learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken.
Be bold enough to live life on your terms,
and never, ever apologize for it.
Go against the grain, refuse to conform,
take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path.
Laugh in the face of adversity,
and leap before you look.
Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching.
March to the beat of your own drummer.
And stubbornly refuse to fit in."
 — Mandy Hale

Life is a balance between knowing when to hold on and when to let go.
When you know it's time to let go,
honor that person or thing with an internal affirmation,
such as, "Thank you for your part in my journey."
A nod of acknowledgment allows you to graciously
release any lingering hold the relationship has on your heart,
making space for whatever comes next.

...two eighty six.

We are bright, shimmering beacons of light, but we turn away from our glittering brilliance,
instead lingering silently in shrouded shadows.

We soak up a thousand emotional impressions in the span of seven seconds, so easily losing track of our own hearts, our own minds, our own pain and our own needs.

We are tailor-made to soothe panicked heartbeats and bestow smiles on suffering souls, but we lose sight of the juicy joy in curling our own lips upward into a gutsy, no-holds-barred grin.

We are born to breathe in the world’s pounding panic and bursting joy and bitter hatred and luscious love, but we forget the fierce dragon-like freedom in exhaling the at-times
exhausting struggle of sensing so much.

We have waterfall hearts...

Living Garbage Free

Recently I hopped in a Taxi and we took off for the Airport. We were
driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car pulled right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car
by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started
yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car
and sent us to the hospital!"

This is when my Taxi driver taught me what I now call,
'The Law of the Garbage Truck'.  He explained that many people are
like garbage trucks. They run around full of Garbage, full of frustration,
full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their Garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes
they'll dump it on you.
He said, "Don't take it personally."

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on!!
Don't take their Garbage and spread
it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that stress-free people do not let Garbage Trucks
take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so Love on the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't.
Life is ten percent what you make it and
ninety percent how you take it.

Have a garbage-free day!!

~the Internet

so i found this story yesterday.
and i saved it for today.
initially, after spending time in my
mice eaten garden,
i was going to whine.
about the fact.
that my beautiful garden.
is a shell of it's former self.
after typing this story out.
i am going to be grateful.
that this garden was.
i am going to be grateful.
that i captured it's former beauty.
i am going to be grateful.
that with love and patience.
it will be a new kind of beautiful.
i can be grateful.
or i can be angry over something i could not control.
guess what i choose.
