...you catch yourself...

“well, you know when you're rocking in a rocking chair,
and you go so far that you almost fall over backwards,
but at the last instant you catch yourself?
that's how I feel all the time”
stephen wright

i have a couple.
of new items.
for sitting on the porch with.
this is a wonderful rocker.
i brought it out during.
our 80 degree temps.
but put it back when rain.
was in the air.
i see many content moments.
ahead for me.
as i rock.
with my coffee.
and just breathe in the day.
for more shadows.
happy 'moment savoring' weekend.
just BE.

  4. I have four rockers on my front porch so everyone can have one. :)
I not only like your subtle shadows but the worn patina of the paint as well!
I haven't thought of Stephen Wright in a long while - love him and this quote!

  5. We think of the rocker a a device for a mom to rock the baby gently to sleep. Yet, the grown-ups too need to be soothed by the gentle fore-and-aft rocking motion. On a warm day, the gentle motions are relaxing - but don't rock back too far!

Rocking chairs are wonderful things. I have one inside that I almost never use. Must do better!

Have a fun week seeking shadows!

  8. LoL* that a butt catcher? Funny enough.

In my language Tagalog, the Philippine language... if you translate chair? Salung-puwit, it means salu- catch-puwit butt... Now, you know...

    Happy SSS,

    Blessings,

  11. Sounds wonderful to have a rocking chair to sit in and watch the world go by. And the shadow of the rungs on the seat are quite attractive.

  13. Great shadows on the rocker.

I sure miss the days of sitting on the front porch of my parents house in the rocker or gliding bench. We enjoyed many mornings and evenings on that porch and many conversations. Thanks for reminding me of those times!!
