...sunshine is delicious...

"sunshine is
delicious,
rain is
refreshing,
wind braces us up,
snow is
exhilarating;
there is really
no such thing
as bad weather,
only
different
kinds
of
good
weather."
~john ruskin
so i guess what
john is saying...
is enjoy what you are given.
because the alternative would be...
nothing?
so today.
i will be enjoying
the many different shades of
gray.
BUT
thank goodness for
light + objects = shadows
over at HEY HARRIET
and enjoy whatever color
or weather
you are given today.
just BE.

We need to adapt to the weather, whatever the season. This knit scarf is is ideal for the season, the construction to keep us comfortable. Should we be wearing it, the added warmth will be had if we face the sun. Then, the shadows will not feel so cold...

A very crispy sunshine... that give you the best shot!

Love the earthy tone blended in the grey? My colour.

Happy SS and VD for tomorrow.

Great shot and I do know how you feel! I'm tired of gray, too!! But, hey, it does help make you so appreciative of the sun and colors when they return. Hope you have a great weekend and a very Happy Valentine!

I like this! The ability to see beauty in the most commonplace of items is a gift indeed.

Tis true, we all should enjoy whatever weather comes our way. We certainly cannot control it.

And when we tire of the weather we can blog!

Cool shadow on the handiwork here - I don't like to disagree with my husband (Ralph) but isn't this a piece of crochet work?

Have a nice weekend and a Happy Valentine's Day ~

I agree about the weather. I like your shadow shot-a simple piece of cloth but so intricate and so many shadows.

hi patti...it is a crocheted piece. it is actually a crocheted sack about 2 ft long. it's very cool. i have it laying over a chair.

The sun shining on the crocheted sack is gorgeous. Thanks for that reminder to just be thankful for the weather we have. If it was winter for me right now I would be craving the icky scorching humid weather I'm currently experiencing. So I should try to appreciate it a bit more. If you can appreciate your gray I can appreciate the heat. Your post reminded of the quote "Everything that is, could be otherwise!" by Germaine Greer. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Lovely shot of the shadow on the crocheted piece.

Just think, today February is half over and the days are getting longer and longer. :)

And we have a definitely gray day today, but yesterday was stunning with all the hoar frost frosting the landscape, it was magical, did you have it up there?

And like I've said many times, that is the one thing I like about Winter...the magic that follows, we appreciate it ever more!

But enough already, just throw us a little bone Ma Nature...just one day of snow melt is all we ask! Well, and that you guys get your fair share of summer this year.

But each day was a day in the life itself and I'm sure you know how to fill each one with the joy of it...me too, sunny or not, life moves forward, one glorious second(and seed) at a time!

Hey Tilda, polishing up them garden tools yet, I'm plotting my attack already...I'm itchin' fer it...or maybe that's just from all the woolies...ha!

Thanks for the coffee...!
